I went freelance in January 2007 after working for more than 10 years at Travel Trade Gazette, in various editorial roles - on news, features and supplements.
I have freelanced for several trade publications and now I am acting editor of travelGBI.com, part of the Travel Weekly Group.
I have regularly worked for World Travel Market, writing releases in advance of the event, and also working in the press office during the event. I will be there again this November.
I have also worked for The Travel Network Group, attending their overseas conferences to write press releases and handle social media accounts.
I also work as a freelance PR for Grand UK Holidays and have handled PR in the past on an ad hoc basis for Hoseasons and Norwich airport.
I also work as a freelance PR for Partnership Plus, a PR firm with clients across a range of sectors.
Specialist areas
I write mainly for travel trade publications and websites. I am currently acting editor of travelGBI.com, part of the Travel Weekly Group. Previously, I was contributing editor for the daily travel trade bulletin www.e-tid.com (Electronic Travel Industry Digest). I cover news stories about travel agents, tour operators, travel technology, cruise lines, airlines, destinations, hotels, luxury, family holidays and business travel. I also write on a freelance basis for the World Travel Market press office, and will be at WTM in London, working in the press office, in November 2015. I handle the PR for Grand UK Holidays and its parent firm, The UK Holiday Group. Grand UK Holidays is a specialist tour operator which operates escorted tours for the over-55s. I also write consumer travel pieces for the Norwich Evening News.
