Bio

I’m Sarah Flower, a nutritionist, recipe developer/cookery writer and author of 24 books, including many focused on healthy eating for the real world. I’ve also worked as a ghostwriter and recipe developer

I’m Sarah Flower, a nutritionist, recipe developer/cookery writer and author of 24 books, including many focused on healthy eating for the real world. I’ve also worked as a ghostwriter and recipe developer behind the scenes on other projects. My work is always rooted in honesty, practicality and encouraging people to eat better without overcomplicating things.

I’m a big advocate for real food – less sugar, less ultra-processed, more protein, more fibre, more of the good stuff. I specialise in low-carb, high-protein, sugar-free, gluten-free and grain-free recipes, but always with a down-to-earth approach. Whether I’m writing for a national newspaper, developing a new product or seeing patients in clinic, my passion is helping people take control of their health through food.

I work part-time in clinic where I focus on hormone balancing, insulin resistance, autoimmune conditions, gut health and weight management.

I spend much of my time writing and creating. I’ve written for The Times, Daily Mail, The Mirror Group, Slim at Home, Elle, Glamour, Fabulous, Healthista, Green Parent, Best, Your and more. I was the money-saving columnist for My Weekly and Kindred Spirit and continue as Senior Editor at Tonic Magazine and Associate Editor at Green Magazine.

I also run corporate health seminars and teach cookery and nutrition in schools, helping to inspire healthier habits in children and adults alike. Over the years, I’ve appeared regularly on BBC Radio Devon and was previously the resident cookery expert on BBC Radio Oxford.

I work with PR companies offering expert comment, recipe development, features, product reviews and brand consultancy. I love bringing new ideas to life – from educational campaigns to media commentary – and I’m always open to collaborations that align with my values.

As well as writing, I’m available for private nutrition consultations, either virtually or in person.
