An award-winning journalist with extensive experience in print and web-based
dailies, weeklies and monthlies, such as the Daily and Sunday Telegraph, Observer,
Daily Express, Jewish Chronicle and Standpoint magazine. A published author
commissioned to write Jerusalem: The Illustrated History of the Holy City (Andre
Deutsch). Praised for accuracy, reliability and can-do attitude.
Created and implemented an online presence for the Jewish Chronicle, winning three
national newspaper awards, the Weekly National Newspaper on the Web, in three years
Commissioned to write within two months a 60,000-word book on the history of
Jerusalem. Sold 2,000 copies within the first three weeks of publication.
Brought into the Daily Express/Daily Star to show that the papers could be produced
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, InCopy and
Dreamweaver, as well as in QuarkXpress and HTML-Kit

Set target of six months to get the website up and running, achieved in four
Persuaded the editor and managing director of the Jewish Chronicle to change the
agreed design because the one decided on looked clunky and old-fashioned
Turned the website into a 24/7 news service with instant, updated reports
Pushed for and succeeded in being first non-Israeli/non-American journalist to be
granted interview with the then Prime Minister Ehud Barak
Interviewed leading Israeli and Palestinian decision-makers
Wrote colour pieces on the 1999 Eurovision Song Contest in Jerusalem and Israeli
football internationals, as well as human interest stories
Voluntary Work
Part of the Overseas Project Team of Tzedek, a UK-based charity which aims to provide a
Jewish response to extreme poverty. Role includes monitoring grant applications from start to
finish to ensure that they are feasible, sustainable and will help the people in poverty-stricken
areas

o Cycling – three or four long-distance (upwards of 50 miles) charity rides a year, as well
as cycling to work where possible
