WHAT do features about nanotechnology, a new cancer treatment centre, protecting people from kidnap, the global influence of Scottish literature and blog articles about everything from getting a City of London job to good things about working in a call centre all have in common? It’s me – I wrote them.
What’s the link between national policy documents, marketing copy for SMEs and onboard magazines about films, TV and music for airline companies? Me – I sub-edited or proofread them all.
And what connection is there between a music festival’s 40-page programme and changed graphic corporate branding on a website? Yep, me again – I designed them both.
Using writing and design skills honed while working as a newspaper journalist, and then in corporate publishing, I’ve helped all sorts of clients get their message over to target audiences.
Those organisations have included (to name just a few): Age UK, BP, British Aerospace, BT, Colchester Borough Council, Hewlett Packard, Laing O’Rourke, National Childbirth Trust, Network Rail, the NHS, Sky, Singapore Airlines, The University of Law, various financial services companies plus many SMEs.
My unique selling point, which I hope is now clear, is that besides being a skilled writer, sub-editor/proof-reader and project manager, I have another significant string to my bow: print design using Adobe InDesign/Photoshop or Quark Xpress. My career experience also includes website design too.
This 360-degree exposure to all things publishing makes me a strong all-rounder. But if I can’t help, I often work in strategic alliances with other talented people. That’s other writers, graphic designers, website developers, printers and so on. So, through contacts I’ve made in the past 30 years, I also provide a doorway to the wider publishing industry, with me as your guide.
I’m flexible in my approach and costs. Contact me through this site or use the following:
