Bio

I was a regular contributor of historical and folklore articles to Smallholder Magazine between 2004 and 2014. I have also written for other magazines including Cambridgeshire County Life Magazine on history

I was a regular contributor of historical and folklore articles to Smallholder Magazine between 2004 and 2014. I have also written for other magazines including Cambridgeshire County Life Magazine on history based topics (Some examples of my work can be seen and downloaded as PDFs on my website).
I have a Ph.D. on folklore, history and storytelling in 19th century Lincolnshire and have written books on Lincolnshire Folk Tales and Cambridgeshire Folk Tales for the History Press. The latter was presented with an award by the Cambridgeshire Association for Local History in 2015.
I have an MA in Museums and Galleries in Education from the Institute of Education, University of London, for which I produced a report on the place of Narrative in Museums and have been involved in heritage interpretation for many years.
I studied history at degree level at Homerton College, University of Cambridge
I have written 2 sets of teaching resources on the Abolition of the British Slave Trade and Slavery and am presently a public speaker and teacher with the WEA.
