Tobias Mews is an international class endurance athlete and freelance adventure sports journalist/filmmaker. Although a TV journalist by training, alongside regularly writing for outdoor fitness magazines such as Men's Health, Men's Fitness, Runner's World and Cycling Plus, to name but a few, he runs his own multi-media sports production company - Mews Media Ltd. A former Army Officer, Tobias served for five and a half years with the Royal Artillery with active service in Iraq and Cyprus, as well as postings in Germany and the UK.
Not one to stand still, he has competed in well over 250 races across the UK and internationally, including the Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Race, Transalpine Run, Ironman UK, Norseman Triathlon, Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc, Laverado Ultra Trail, OtillO, Jungle Ultra, Madeira Island Ultra Trail, Godzone, Cape Epic and many more.
He's the author of two books: 50 Races to Run Before you Die and Go!. He's also contributed to the Lonely Planet Atlas of Adventure.
Based in between London and the French Pyrenees, he regularly achieves podium finishes in a range of races from the shorter, muddy off-road events such as the Grim, Hellrunner and the Knacker Cracker to stunning Endurancelife coastal trail marathons. In 2011 he completed his first desert race - the Marathon des Sables in 21st position and as Top British Finisher (much to his surprise). He returned two years later and came 15th, but 3rd Brit.
