I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Journalists (immediate past president), and have been a member of the International Building Press for 35 years, five years sitting on the executive committee, two as Hon Treasurer.
Specialist areas
A freelance for 30 years, I write on a variety of topics for mainly trade/technical publications. Areas of specialisation include technology and internet, management and process, construction, planning, property, housebuilding, architecture, transport, energy, building services and education. I also write for consumer and regional papers on the subjects of homes, moving, energy efficiency, home buying, conveyancing and lifestyle. A recent area of interest has been smarter working, working practices, flexible working and work-life balance.
