My main gig (which I've been doing for several decades now) is a monthly 'Real World' column for PC Pro magazine where I mainly cover various wireless/connected technologies, and mobile computing. I also write occasional bits for other media outlets. As well as the whole mobile arena I'm passionate about quality websites - not just visually nice, but websites that function correctly, work properly across a range of devices, and which are accessible by people with visual and other disabilities.

Specialist areas

With my first hat on: Mobile, smartphones, IoT, home automation, tablets, mini-laptops, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, mobile networks and data, broadband, mobile device management (inc. BYOD), satellite data, powerline networking, home automation, smart heating systems, etc. . Basically, anything to do with 'connected' computing. With my second hat on: Website coding standards, accessibility and responsive design.
