I have 26 years experience in specialist publishing working for EMAP and Bauer. I have held most editorial roles during my career. These have included news editor, features writer, features editor, deputy editor, development editor, associate editor, editor and until recently, editor-in-chief of Practical Photography, Digital Photo, and Photo answers online.

During my career I have launched magazines, re-invented established products, created new digital business, and established successful cross-platform content that has driven subscriptions and consumer loyalty.

I am a skilled manager and enjoy developing talent, as well as directing and driving creative teams. I understand the consumer and how it’s vital to tap into his world with innovative, engaging, and relevant content – whether that is in print or online.

I have also scripted and presented many online videos and made appearances as an expert/spokesman on TV and radio, including spending a week filming with the BBC. In the past I have also written and presented several commercial DVDs.

I am also a highly creative photographer – with a vast experience photographing diverse subjects. I have travelled extensively, always with a notebook in one hand and a camera in the other. Shooting with a DSLR and a range of quality lenses, I capture images in an engaging, creative, and story-telling fashion.
