Journalist for 45 years. Started on local weeklies, made redundant 2013 while group editor of B2B and B2C publisher. On the last lap I was the sole journalist producing all editorial content and designing pages for a monthly A3 construction title, a bi-monthly A4 environmental technology magazine and a quarterly A4 construction plant magazine (on this one I was founding editor and indeed the only editor for more than two decades).
I have also designed/edited/worked on publications covering the licensed trade, convenience grocery, packaging, office administration and travel as well as exhibition previews and guides, contract publishing etc. I was the first person not directly employed by the construction industry to be presented with the Open Award by the Chartered Institute of Building. This was in recognition for services to the industry through my editorship of the monthly construction magazine.
