I specialise in golf and Scottish history writing. I have also written charity profiles and other articles on a wide variety of topics. From a golf perspective I do tournament reporting, player interviews, features and travel pieces.
With regard to Scottish history I have an in depth knowledge of Edinburgh, specialising in the graveyards and New Town. Recent published articles include an extensive feature on the Scottish Borders, and an intriguing story of several generations of the Grahams of Airth, for the Scottish Genealogy Society magazine.
I have also written articles on Swanston Village and South Leith Parish church for Edinburgh Life magazine, among many others for various publications.
In summary I have been published on the websites of Golfblogger UK, Amateur Golf (a US website), Scottish Golf News, Lothian Life and STV Local. In terms of hard copy magazines I have had articles in The Scots Magazine, the Scottish Genealogy Society magazine, Fairways and Greens Magazine (a US publication), Dark Horse Publications, Sport in Edinburgh, East Lothian Life and Edinburgh Life.
I also have strong presenting skills, and in 2012 gave a series of voluntary presentations for the National Autistic Society. I currently volunteer as a guide for the National Trust for Scotland in Edinburgh. In 2014 completed a micro project for them researching a selection of paintings, one of the subjects of which I wrote a detailed feature on for the Scottish Genealogy Society magazine.
