Sophie Goodchild is an award winning journalist with more than 20 years experience as a leading news and feature writer. Her most recent staff job was Health Editor of the Evening Standard and she is still works on a freelance basis as the paper's health news and feature writer. Before that, Sophie spent nine years as first Home Affairs Correspondent then Chief Reporter on the Independent on Sunday newspaper. Her campaigning work on the Independent was recognised with three awards including Mind's Journalist of the Year. Her freelance experience includes report writing for organisations such as the National Trust and Bupa; providing media advice and training for clients including Turning Point and the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency; as well as chairing media advisory boards for healthcare companies. In her spare time, she volunteers as a member of the Independent Monitoring Board for HMP Bullingdon.
