I lived in Barcelona, Spain, for several years and completed a Ph.D on the urban history of Barcelona in the 20th century. I am fluent in Spanish and Catalan and have a good knowledge of French.
I have written and/or contributed to several guidebooks to Mexico, Spain, France and other countries for Insight Guides, Cadogan Guides, Time Out and Dorling Kindersley, with an emphasis on cultural background, history, and food and drink, although I've also been responsible for every area of a guide including accommodation, services and transport listings.
I am a regular restaurant reviewer for the Time Out London Eating Guide.
I also have TV experience as a translator and fixer.
