Frances Spiegel

Frances Spiegel is a UK-based freelance feature writer and photographer.

Ms Spiegel contributed regularly to Letter Arts Review, an award-winning magazine published in the United States. Her articles explored the history and calligraphy of medieval manuscripts as well as modern calligraphy.

Ms Spiegel contributed regularly to Altitude, the official magazine of Nationwide Airlines, South Africa. Three articles included a profile of Dame Judi Dench, a review of the Tate Modern in London, the Tate Gallery’s website, and a look at London’s Natural History Museum.

Ms Spiegel has also contributed to Horizons Magazine, Church Times, Catholic Herald and The Lady, England’s oldest weekly magazine for women.

The December 2007 edition of Best of British Britain's favourite nostalgia magazine relating to the forties, fifties and sixties, contained a feature about miniature Matchbox Toys.

As a travel writer Ms Spiegel is keen to travel. Before the age of digital photography her suitcase was always full of dozens of rolls of film. Nowadays she travels light with just a note pad, pencils and digital camera. Her favourite city is Toronto and she's written several pieces about this fascinating city. Ms Spiegel is the author of "Ride the Rocket - Toronto Enabled", a humorous autobiographical travelogue about Toronto.

Ms Spiegel's family is mad about food and we experiment a lot in the kitchen, particularly with gluten-free recipes. Many of the recipes appear on Infobarrel.com and Wizzley.com

Other hobbies include music and singing and learning Italian. She's been learning for several years but still doesn't speak the language that well!
