Bio

I was born and brought up in the English Lake District, where I have climbed and walked all my life. I was educated as a scientist, and taught Chemistry for many years before becoming a full-time writer.

I was born and brought up in the English Lake District, where I have climbed and walked all my life. I was educated as a scientist, and taught Chemistry for many years before becoming a full-time writer. I have published many features in magazines and websites about the Lake District, Northumberland and Durham, Scotland and Ireland, Norway, Australia and various destinations in between (Portugal, Italian Dolomites, Lanzarote, Madeira, The Faroe Islands, Dubai, Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong).
I am a member of the Outdoor Writers and Photographers Guild (OWPG).
