In my other lives I have worked in both industry and commerce and I am qualifed in Scots law. I have been a full time writer since 2000 and I feel that my life and work experiences allows me to bring a balanced perspective to the topics I write about.
Specialist areas
Scotland, travel & tourism, social and military history, nostalgia, sport, the paranormal & the downright quirky, short stories, disability & special educational needs, (particularly Down's syndrome) but I can produce copy on most subjects. My work, text and photographs, has appeared in publications in the UK, the USA and Australia. Phantoms and Fairies, my book about the ghosts and haunted places of Angus & Dundee, was published in August 2010 and The Sea Enriches, a local history based on my newspaper column, in 2012. Murders & Misdeeds, tales of murders and public hangings in Angus & Dundee, was published in 2013 and Goals and Gable Ends, a history of Montrose FC in April 2016. I also prepare awards' applications for a local construction company and they have come top in four categories in 2017, including winning two national awards.
