Born in the Yorkshire Dales, I grew up to appreciate British food at it’s best. After training as a Home Economist in London, my career began as a home economist in Robert Carrier’s photographic studio.
Born in the Yorkshire Dales, I grew up to appreciate British food at it’s best. After training as a Home Economist in London, my career began as a home economist in Robert Carrier’s photographic studio. I moved on to write for many top national magazines, notably as Deputy Cookery Editor of Good Housekeeping, Cookery Editor of Woman’s Realm and contributor to BBC Good Food magazine.
Since becoming freelance, my work has included writing books (now more than 30, ranging from Thai cooking to Chocolate), cookery features for magazines and newspapers, radio and TV broadcasting, recipe and product development, restaurant reviewing, teaching and food styling. I am now semi-retired and live in Somerset. I am a member of the Guild of Food Writers.
