About me:
I have worked with words for more than 20 years. In that time I have been a local paper reporter, news editor of the Big Issue in Scotland, night editor of the Daily Star of Scotland and deputy night editor of the Scottish Daily Mirror. I have also had stints working as a freelance feature writer, reporter and sub-editor.
I spent a year as an account manager in Scotland’s largest PR agency, working on accounts as diverse as ScottishPower and a major regeneration project.
Two years ago, in search of the elusive work-life balance, I decided to become freelance.
Since then, I have written for magazines and newspapers as well as providing copy for a range of client websites and publications.
Among others, I have written for the BT Today website, NHS Lanarkshire’s staff newspaper, the Scottish Consumer Council’s HealthLiving Awards website, TalentScotland, North Ayrshire Council, BAE Systems, Perth and Kinross Council, the Care Commission, NHS 24, Shepherd + Wedderburn’s client magazine, In The Park magazine and Corporate Scotland.
My wide experience demonstrates my ability to write clean, crisp copy on time, to length and according to the brief.
The ability to write well is something of a given, the real reason for my success lies in being able to quickly understand what is required… then to deliver it without fuss.
