I own a small publishing company called Courtworth Publications, which publishes the quarterly magazine 'Bus Fayre' and the monthly blog/website 'Busmopolitan'. I am the managing editor for these publications.
I've produced Busmopolitan since January 2008. This focuses around bus, coach, railway (light and heavy), along with some aviation, within the county of Essex and its surrounds.
Bus Fayre has been under my wing since March 2016. This was taken over from its previous publisher, Autobus Review, upon retirement of the latter's proprietor. Bus Fayre looks at the bus, coach and tramway scene (present and past), across the UK; with the occasional foray abroad - generally with a British connection. Railway franchises/operations managed by bus companies are also visited.
I have a BA Honours in Sociology from the University of Essex and a MSc in Passenger Transport Management from Aston University. I've been a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and its predecessors since May 1996, and was elected to Chartered Membership (CMILT) in August 2013. I have also been chair of the Essex section of the CILT Eastern Region since April 2012.
My involvement in transport journalism began as a contributor in 1993. I got involved with Bus Fayre from 1995. I also have more than 20 years professional involvement in road passenger transport, having served in operational, management and training roles.
I also have membership of the Society of Education and Training (SET) and sit on their Practioner Advisory Group (PAG).
