Immersing myself in Shreveport and the culture of the ArkLaTex and broadening my query range.
Community involvement includes A Better Shreveport, Mudbug Madness, Shreveport Farmers Market, and other community events.
Spent the two previous years in Germany.
Up until spring 2010, was field editor for the Rutland Business Journal and contributor to all New England Business Journals as well as public relations writer for University of Vermont Extension and occasional contributor to New England Country Folks and other regional publications.
I worked on Rutland Creative Economy committees that looked at ways to improve the community's economic picture, and served on the board of directors of both the Rutland County Pro Business Coalition (promoting more business-friendly regulations and legislation) and the Rutland Area Farm and Food Link (strengthening interaction between local food producers and consumers). Volunteered for usher corps at local venue theater.
Interests include history, healthful foods, archaeology, paleontology, museums, culture, art, hiking, and camping.
