My love of science and writing led me to the perfect career in scientific journalism...I admit it - I am a bit of a science geek!
For over six years (2009 - 2015), I worked for Laboratory News writing news, features and comment pieces for both print and online. I also conducted interviews with scientists, edited features and comment pieces from scientists and PRs, and worked closely with several institutions for various regular pieces.
I can write on all areas of science - from astronomy to chemistry to pathology and have experience writing for both experts and the general public.
I regularly write for Patient, World Pharmaceutical Frontiers, Clinical Trials, Practical Patient Care, Medical Device Developments and Practical Patient Care Middle East, Elsevier and AZoNetworks.
I also write on for consumer interest titles, including pieces on mental health, tocophobia and other such topics for NetDoctor.
I also also recently been commissioned to carry out some re-purposing work, including editing and proofreading client copy, for one of my regular titles.
My main interest and experience is in writing for a general scientific audience: I know a little about a lot and can take complex and technical information and turn it into something interesting and readable for both experts and the general public. Most of my work has involved writing on science, the environment, health and pharmaceuticals, medical devices and patient care, and consumer interest pieces writing on mental health and other such topics. I have also recently branched out into writing for Future Airport and World Wind Technology too.
