Harriet Griffey is a writer and journalist, and author of a number of published non-fiction books. She writes regularly for a variety of different outlets, but originally qualified as a state registered nurse and worked as a staff nurse on the paediatric unit of the Middlesex Hospital, London before moving into book publishing, becoming publishing director at Macdonald Optima, then moving into television production and, finally, journalism. She is also an accredited life coach, and works with teenagers through the charity Youth at Risk.
Specialist areas
As a freelance journalist with extensive experience, I have interviewed celebrities and others, written general features, travel pieces and even book reviews, but because of my medical background I have also specialised in health, providing a well-informed approach to both orthodox and alternative health related subjects. I have written for national newspapers and magazines, but also for the trade press, numerous charities and corporate organisations.
