Most recently, I have launched a media company - Lara Media at www.laramedia.co.uk - which offers content for websites and blogs, magazines and newspapers, marketing material for companies, whether online or offline, editing services, ghost writing, corporate consultancy, media training, podcasts, video production, presenting skills, news article consultancy and targeting.
This runs alongside www.mymoneydiva.com, of which I am editor and co-founder.
I started my career in 1997 at Professional Pensions, the leading weekly newspaper for the UK occupational pensions industry. I then went to Financial Adviser magazine for two years, first as features writer, later as features editor. From 2000-06 I worked on the personal finance section of The Daily Telegraph, becoming Deputy Personal Finance Editor in 2004.
After going freelance in 2006, I have continued to maintain a notable presence in the national press, writing for The Times, The Sunday Times, The Daily and Sunday Telegraph, the Daily and Sunday Express and The Sun.
I have won eight awards for my writing, including Personal Finance Journalist of the Year from the Association of British Insurers four times in a row.
I have a degree in journalism from the London College of Printing and Distributive Trades.
