having started out in 1996 working for the US
commodities newswire Bridge followed by foreign
correspondence work for FT Finance www.ft.com and
then as a stringer for the energy newswire Platts
www.platts.com which took him to Spain, Peru,
Argentina and finally to Italy.
By 1999 he was working
full time for Reuters in their Rome bureau covering
corporate and political news.
This news gathering period was followed by a departure from pure
financial news gathering into photography, editorial management,
market-driven analysis and travel journalism.
After leaving Reuters in 2001 Rupert
headed editorial strategy at The Writer

corporate profile of high-end and medium-sized
businesses through their online and in-house content
including business plans, mission statements and press
