I have worked in the health field for the past 35 years. A former deputy editor of Nursing Times I was also editor of Health Management between 1997 and 2000. I now work as a freelance health and medical writer and have written for a wide range of publications including The Guardian, the British Medical Journal and Health Service Journal.
Specialist areas
Special areas of interest include medical, nursing, public health, food and health, palliative care, dementia and patient issues. Recent topics covered: end of life care, food and health initiatives, cancer care, nutrition in care homes and the carers’ strategy. For the last five years I have edited the End of Life Care Newsletter, the monthly newsletter of the National End of Life Care Programme. I also write good practice case studies for their website and have helped edit several of their popular Routes to Success guides.
