Jamie is a freelance consumer tech & travel journalist. He owns and edits TravGear.com and writes a weekly column on technology & digital lifestyle for the South China Morning Post (Hong Kong), as well as travel features, regularly writes for TechRadar.com, TechRadarPRO, Mashable & BBC Focus magazines, and has had travel features, restaurant reviews, book reviews and travel gear articles published in TravelSupermarket.com, Easyjet Traveller and Morning Calm (Korean Air inflight magazine), Real Travel, BBC Sky At Night, BBC Wildlife and BBC History magazines, as well as news in The Guardian's front book and its Travel website.

Jamie also undertakes a lot of corporate copy writing and product consultancy for blue-chip brands, as well as the occasional lecture to journalism student. He has just written a book (December 2015) – Stargazing: A Program for Beginners
He also reports on all Total Solar Eclipses for the BBC Sky At Night magazine.

Jamie won several magazine awards from the Press Gazette and Periodicals Training Council (including one for Editor) and spent four years in London working on a host of technology magazines. He is now based in Cardiff once again, and travels widely (though now regards London only as an airport).
Travel journalism trips in the last year include Morocco, Pondicherry, Australia, Portugal's Alentejo region, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Berlin, Nice, Sundarbans, Spain, Peru, Japan, Flagstaff, Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Bangladesh.

When he's not writing Jamie can be found hiking in the Brecon Beacons, near his home in Cardiff.
