Author of more than 30 motoring books which are of a diverse nature. Subjects include Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Fiat, Hillman, Citroen, Rover, Volkswagen, the iconic VW Bus, London Taxicabs, Austerity Motoring, British Police Cars, Bubblecars and Microcars, Three-wheelers and British Lorries of the 1950s and 60s. Also compiler of buyers and ownership guides to Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow/Bentley T and Fiat 500/600. Commissioned to compile an in-depth history of Rolls-Royce to commemorate the firm's 60th Anniversary of the Crewe factory; also published the biography of W.O. Bentley. Contributor to several magazines, journals and newspapers on all subjects of motoring and automotive history. Motoring correspondent to Cumbria Life magazine, Carlisle Living, and CN Newspaper Group. Member of the Guild of Motoring Writers, the Society of Automotive Historians, and the Society of Authors. Photographic work has appeared in books and magazines and on book jackets. Consultant and regular broadcaster on motoring subjects for BBC Radio Cumbria. Editor of Society of Automotive Historians' quarterly magazine SAHB Times
