Susan is a fully qualified (NCTJ) journalist with an MA (distinction) in journalism. She worked for more than 15 years as a journalist and specialist writer for regional newspapers/business magazines.
She now works as a freelance writer/editor and teaches journalism part time at a local university.
She has undertaken a range of B2B and PR work including case studies, news releases, brochures etc and offers a one-stop shop for newsletters/customer magazines etc.
She has excellent research and interviewing skills and can write to suit house style/target audience.
She has written or edited for local authority Best Vallue Performance Plan books and taxpayer magazines, Square Meal Magazine, The Independent (supplements on environmental and energy awards), technology magazine, local authority consumer magazines plus specialist publications for various sectors including export.
Previous PR clients include The Countryside Agency, New Deal for Communities, Learning and Skills Council, international chemicals company, aerospace manufacturing company, Business Link and Education Action Zone.
Specialist areas
I am especially interested in environmental issues/news, parenting, educational and pets. For two years I prepared editorial for HE Green Gown awards and was previously an enrironment rep for my trades union.
