Jackie Mitchell is a professional journalist and editor, with over 20 years’ experience.
As a feature writer, she has worked on national newspapers, consumer magazines and trade publications in the UK, Australia, New York and Hong Kong. She has been freelance, operating out of her own office, since 1990.
She contributes regularly to Catering Update (Reed Business Information); The Grocer (William Reed) and Out of Home (OOH), a magazine for independent sandwich shops, coffee shops and bakeries. Her areas of specialisation include catering, small businesses, food and drink, health and travel.
Jackie has edited the following publications:
Kingston Business News, a quarterly business magazine on behalf of Kingston Chamber of Commerce, containing articles on issues affecting small businesses, as well as Chamber news.
Independent Hotelier, a monthly trade publication for independent hotel managers and guest-house owners, which was the runner-up in the Federation of Small Businesses Guildhall Helping Hands Award.
She has also produced newsletters and brochures for several companies including Butter Rosettes, Chris Lane Family Leisure Club, The Self Assessment Tax Return Advisory Service and Greggs of Twickenham.
