From 2001 to 2012 I was editor in chief and then publisher/owner of Kansai Scene magazine, which serves Japan's Kansai region. I work as a freelance writer and I also write fiction. My journalism work has appeared on CBC TV News (Canada), in Time Out (London) Kyoto City Guide, The London News Review, Kansai Scene, Tokyo Scene, The Gloucester Citizen, Kansai Time Out and various non-commercial publications and web sites. My second novel will be out soon.
