I'm a cognitive behaviour therapist, clinical hypnotherapist, coach, writer, journalist, college lecturer, trainer, public speaker and occasional voiceover artist. Somehow, I still find time to walk my dog three times a day! I've been involved in writing for newspapers magazines and websites, on and off, for over 20 years and have been in private practice as a therapist since 2004. My portfolio website is given below, but I also blog regularly at my therapy website (www.danielfryer.com).
Specialist areas
I'm an experienced psychotherapist and writer, so mental health and wellbeing is my main area of expertise. Before become a therapist, I was a full-time writer and journalist with a varied career that involved writing for Time Out Magazine (so, I'm good on city life), writing film reviews and features for Velocity (another 'life in the city' magazine). I also worked in contract publishing for clients as diverse as The British Video Association, Gala Bingo, First TransPennine Express and more. I can write on a variety of topics, including mental and physical health and wellbeing, psychology, men's interest, LGBTQ issues, lifestyle, fitness (I've blogged on various fitness sites), humour, entertainment and more.
