Based in Cardiff, South Wales, Kacie is a food and travel blogger, and freelance writer.
Entitled The Rare Welsh Bit, Kacie’s blog was established almost 7 years ago, and covers food and travel in South Wales and beyond. The Rare Welsh Bit was recently named one of Credit Donkey’s Best Travel Food Blogs. In 2015, the blog was shortlisted for ‘Best in Food’ in the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards, named one of WalesOnline’s 11 tastiest Welsh food blogs.
Alongside blogging, Kacie has written features for publications such as Sainsbury’s Magazine and Around Town Wales magazines, and previously edited the food and drink section of Around Town Cardiff and the Vale magazine.
Kacie also has considerable experience in writing about education, gained from producing editorial and copy for marketing literature, press releases and advertisements whilst working for Cardiff Sixth Form College; the UK’s no.1 independent A-level provider.
Previously, Kacie has written about financial services for local content marketing agency, Brand Content in addition to producing both internal and external communications (such as the annul report) for the FTSE 100-listed insurance firm, Admiral Group plc.
Kacie has completed a CIM-accredited course in social media marketing and she has extensive experience of using Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Instagram, in addition to scheduling apps such as Hootsuite and Buffer. Previously, she has created Twitter content on behalf of several clients of XIBO; a marketing platform for the conference and exhibition industry, XIBO. In addition, she previously managed the Around Town Wales magazines’ Twitter account.
In addition, Kacie has been interviewed about the South Wales food and drink scene by BBC Cambridge for Share Radio, and by BBC Radio Wales for the Good Morning Wales breakfast show.
