Tim Probert is an NCTJ-qualified freelance journalist, based in the UK, specializing in the electric power industry.
Recent commissions include African Review of Business & Technology, Arabian Business, Asian Power, Batteries & Energy Storage Technology, Fierce Smart Grid, Gas Turbine World, Materials World, Mining Magazine, Modern Power Systems, New Power, Renewable Energy World, The Energy Industry Times, The Times and WaterWorld International.
Previously Tim was deputy editor of Power Engineering International for five years at PennWell.
As well as writing news, analysis & features for this monthly title, plus sister publications Middle East Energy and Global Power Review, Tim edited the weekly PEi Digest and launched a number of products including PEi Digest Russia, the US Civil Nuclear Industry Directory on behalf of the United States Department of Commerce and the annual Nuclear Power Europe conference, for which he was conference director.
Prior to PennWell, Tim edited a number of commodity reports, including World Crude Report, for Reed Elsevier, and was chief reporter for The Public Ledger, a weekly commodities newspaper.
