Natasha Brinsmead

Having graduated from Reading University in 2000 with a degree in English and Classics, I worked in children's book publishing before moving into magazine journalism. I currently work as Associate Contect Editor for a leading home interest title, specialising in self-build and renovation. I have worked as a journalist in the home interest sector for well over 10 years.
I also write on a freelance basis, having written for other home interest magazines, such as Real Homes, Period Living and House Beautiful, covering subjects both the practical side of housebuilding and renovation, as well as 'real life' case studies and more specific features, focusing on new trends, choosing furniture, interior design schemes and fittings, plus I have a monthly interiors column.
In addition I have written features for Guardian supplements and a range of collectable DIY cards for the US market.
I have contributed blogs to homebuilding.co.uk. Harvey's Furniture (http://blog.harveysfurniture.co.uk/author/natasha-brinsmead/) and furniture company Zespoke, and cover a wide range of topics, from restoring furniture to the latest interior trends, as well as space planning and renovating original features.
In addition to magazine work, I have also been involved in radio and television, presenting short features on DIY for GMTV and talking about self-build on Radio 5. I have also presented a range of seminars at exhibitions.
I write lots of online content too, contributing to interiors blogs, crafting product descriptions for various websites and have also written press releases for interiors and furniture companies wishing to promote new products.
