I'm Sam Singleton, a freelance journalist, writer and documentary photographer based in Bristol, UK.
My writing has appeared in The i Paper, The Big Issue, Invisible People, NewStart Magazine and Garage Talk Online. My photography has also been featured by the Centre for British Documentary Photography and MALVIE Magazine.
I came to journalism from an unconventional background, having spent nearly sixteen years working in the automotive industry. My documentary project, No Fixed Address, began while I was experiencing homelessness despite remaining in full-time employment, and developed into published photography and journalism.
My interests extend across housing, public affairs, civil liberties, automotive and transport, working life, arts, culture and the experiences of people whose stories are often overlooked. I'm particularly interested in investigative reporting, documentary storytelling and exploring the human consequences of institutional decisions.
I welcome freelance commissions, interviews, relevant press information, story leads, photography assignments and opportunities to gain access to subjects worth exploring.
