I am a documentary photographer with a previous career in editorial media and a key interest in international affairs, social, defence and conflict issues. I now work between London and Frankfurt after several years living in the Middle East.
My aim is to engage audiences with compelling images and narratives that fulfil editorial and strategic objectives by combining creativity with reliable delivery.
My photography is an act of revealing, like peeling layers of an onion, that shows the nature of a subject. The unveiling and freezing of the moment with all its potential qualities, is specific to the medium and its main attraction.
I graduated BA Fine Art from Central St Martins later specialising in photography with MA Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at the London College of Communication under the late Paul Lowe.
An earlier life as a British Army officer provided me with the skill set to manage complicated operations, lead teams and manage logistics under pressure.
Despite my desire to see photographs as a catalyst for change, my own ambitions are far more modest; to describe the interactions and connections that describe the universality of our human condition. I pursue a parallel practice as a fine artist and am a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors.
Professional Ethics
I abide by the NUJ, BPPA, NPPA and Associated Press codes of ethics related to photojournalism work. In practice this means that I do not use Photoshop or AI and limit processing of images that which maintain their authentic nature. To ensure the integrity of my work, my photographs have C2PA Content Credentials data attached.
