Following a career in mainstream corporate and consumer PR, I moved into political PR and crisis management before becoming a freelance journalist and media advisor.
As well as writing for almost all the national press plus a variety of specialist and trade publications, I provide media training and consultancy to retailers, banks and building societies, charities and voluntary groups and transport companies.
Specialist areas
I cover business and management, personal finance and wealth management, property, the luxury sector (consumer and business) health and fitness, food, interior design, travel, men's style and grooming. | also edit reports for The Times and various consumer engagement magazines. I'm experienced at developing entertaining and informative feature ideas which subtly put across key marketing messages. One of my specialities is the luxury sector. As well as writing about products and services I look at marketing, branding, finance and the development of the sector generally. My Twitter feed mediagurusimon has ideas and insights into the world of communications, PR and news. My other blog with news of and insights into the luxury sector has recently been launched at http://luxurybites.blogspot.com/ I speak fluent French which has allowed me to do interviews with spokespeople and individuals that many other journalists would require an interpreter to speak to. It also means that as a fluent French speaking journalist I can get more out of native French speakers even if they do have some knowledge of English.
