I started out as a financial journalist on a trade title in the City, and was then taken on as a staff reporter on the Daily Express and Sunday Express. I left the Express to pursue a freelance career.

I am currently trying to live without supermarkets and I write the regular living-without-supermarkets blog for the Guardian and tweet about the experience as @byesupermarkets
