Words are fundamental to my life. Study in medical sciences and visual art, coupled with extensive travel, interest in the performing arts and fine food provides a broad platform of knowledge for writing features on lifestyle-related.
Past positions include being on staff at The Times and The Daily Mail, and I have freelanced for a number of websites, newspapers and magazines.
Specialist areas
Have written extensively about travel, which actually covers a broad spectrum of interests, from culture and cuisine to transport practicalities and hotels. As a former theatre and comedy critic, I have excellent observation skills and can evaluate objectively, striving strenuously to avoid cliche. Most of my travel has been in Asia and Europe, but I am happy to go anywhere and investigate almost anything. I draw on many years' experience to deliver clean copy on time, that is factually accurate, and also entertains. My background also includes interviewing a wide range of people, including celebrities such as Kylie Minogue, Jeremy Irons and Alice Cooper.
