Edgar Forbes has experience in broadcast, online and print journalism as well as news wires. He started his media career working on a series of legal tv programmes and then moved to CNBC where he was European Companies Editor, Legal Affairs correspondent and presented a lunchtime ‘Stockwatch’ programme. From CNBC he moved to Mirror Group where he was Senior Producer and then Head of Station for Mirror Group’s City TV operations in Edinburgh and Newcastle. He has also worked freelance in radio, stringing for print and provided a weekly column on stocks and shares to German Stern Magazin. Moving to Reuters in the mid 90’s he was appointed to new roles in news and content management and subsequently appointed global head of rights management for the company. More recently, he has been involved in training and consultancy work. He has been a regular commentator on media law issues for Guardian Media and has appeared on BBC Newsnight, Dutch Netwerk TV, Legal TV, BBC and local radio. His most recent assignment has been to write a series of short features on cancer for a co-operation between Handelsblatt Global Edition and Pfizer (www.countering-cancer.org). He is available for general and international news reporting and production as well as specialist assignments. He is bilingual in English and German and speaks French.
