An honours law graduate of King's College London, I started my career at a nationwide firm of independent financial advisers before moving to the FT's Money Management in 1985. Since 1989 I have edited Pensions World, the leading monthly magazine for pensions professionals and from 1997 to 2007 Counsel: the journal of the Bar of England and Wales.
My extensive freelance work has appeared in most nationals including the Mail on Sunday, The Observer and the Sunday Times as well as many consumer magazines. I have won over 10 prizes for property, personal finance and insurance journalism and have appeared on numerous TV programmes and radio, including BBC News, Channel 5 and Radio 4.Corporate work includes contributions to magazines published by Barclays Bank and the Halifax. I excel in producing crisp copy with quick turnaround times.
Specialist areas
Property - have written extensively on property for "Your Home", "What House" and "Counsel magazine (Journal of the Bar of England and Wales). Personal finance - over 20 years' experience; 10 prizes and 3 million words written in the nationals and consumer press! Pensions - have written a book published by Money Extra "Reviewing your Company Pensions" 30,000 words but am equally at home in writing a 200 words cutting edge news item. I have worked with the Plain English Campaign to simplify pensions horrendous jargon. Also a previous editor of Charity World and have much experience of writing on the law
